What is the difference between RCx and a building energy and sustainability audit?

The main goal of RCx is to optimize a building's existing systems to ensure they function properly and at peak efficiency, whereas an energy audit assesses a building's energy consumption and identifies opportunities for energy savings.

Which one should I start with to improve my building's performance?

The answer depends on your project goals: if you are looking for a quick, low-cost reduction in energy consumption, RCx is likely the better choice. Conversely, if you want to define a roadmap for the coming years and identify the widest range of energy-saving and/or decarbonization measures within a specific budget, an energy audit is highly recommended.
